I have been going to Arbour Lake for years. I see Dr. Chris and he is amazing. I have had some traumatic dental experiences (other offices) in the past that have left me very fearful and anxious of any dentist. Due to this fear, I can be a 'not so nice person' when at the dentist. Dr. Chris and Jen have dealt with my 'mean girl' behavior numerous times and still welcomed me back warmly. Dr. Chris is patient, caring and takes A LOT of extra time with me discussing things and making me feel better about any/all procedures. Jen is the nicest person on the planet and she is always available to talk to. I totally recommend this office, especially if you struggle with trusting a dentist or have any fear due to past experiences. I can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me over the years.

I just got my wisdom tooth removed today! I am very thankful cause I’ve been in pain for weeks and had no luck on finding a sooner appointment in any dental clinics. I got lucky when I called this clinic. The Staff I encountered are very nice and accommodating. Dr. Donald is great. I told him that I have a good pain tolerance but not feeling any pain althroughout was amazing! It was a quick one too. I paid reasonable price which is good as well. I told my boyfriend how happy I am with this clinic as soon as I got out, given I have swollen a cheek and can barely talk. Haha. Merry Christmas to the Arbour Lake Dental Care Clinic! Thank you for your service!

This is by far the most horrific experience I have had. The first couple years here were okay, but I was not in a place where I could afford even basic dental work, especially from a place like Arbour Lake that charges crazy prices. This led to a cavity falling out, and me not being able to afford to get it refilled. When I was finally in a place financially, I could afford to get the issue fixed, there was more damage done, and I requested that a root canal was done. Dr. Mike convinced me this was not the best option and talked me into getting it filled as a cavity. The huge hole in my tooth was filled, but I started getting excruciating pain in my tooth. Turns out, the tooth was infected. It did in fact need a root canal. I had spent money to get my cavity filled, only to find out it needed a root canal as I originally asked for. I book an appointment to get the root canal and have my wisdom tooth removed at the same time. The day of my appointment comes, they sedate me with something that goes under the tongue. I come to my senses 2 days later. I missed a whole 2 days because of whatever medication they used to knock me out. I spoke to other people that have gotten their wisdom teeth removed that told me they came to their senses within the same day. I am mortified. Now that I am coherent, I notice that one wisdom tooth is still in, and my root canal was not done. I am incredibly upset. I only get two major surgeries under my benefits, and wisdom teeth removal counts as a major surgery. So now I have to use up my last benefit to finish the job they failed to do. My partner (who picked me up) was not told anything. I go back in to pay a remaining balance, much to my surprise they told me I maxed out my benefits for the year and had to pay over $1,000 out of pocket. I book a follow up appointment to discuss my one remaining wisdom tooth and my root canal. They did tell me they could not operate on the root canal because the tooth infection needed to be drained. I found out that by getting that hole in my tooth filled, caused the infection. Dr. Mike suggesting the filling instead of a root canal caused the infection. The cherry on top was that while I was sedated, he proceeded to re-fill it, and the infection worsens. I go back into the office, and this time, Dr. Don is the one that sees me. I was complaining about my infected tooth. I could not bite down, and was living on a mostly liquid diet. He was going to drill my tooth to drain the infection without freezing me. He stated the freezing will do nothing because of the infection, but he could put me on more anti-biotics. I take the prescription, the infection settles down once more, and I book my follow up appointment, and include a cleaning so I don't have to come back yet again. My infection seems to be settled once again. I go there, and it turns out the dentist went home because he didn't think he had any more patients for the day. I ended up getting my cleaning done since I was there, and the hygienist dug into my gums so badly, when I looked in the mirror afterwards, there was not one area along my gums that was not bleeding. I have never had this issue before, I brush my teeth twice a day, and floss regularly. I left the office having a complete mental breakdown and told them I would not be back. A couple months later, I got sent an email for feedback. They let me know that Dr. Mike was no longer associated with the office, and asking if I would give them another chance. Stupidly, I agreed. The infection is now a lot worse, they told me I may need to consider getting administered anti-biotics at the hospital (anti-biotics worked previously) I also finally got an answer on the wisdom tooth they said they didn't remove it because Dr. Mike was not qualified to deal with that specific tooth. I can't quite remember the reasoning, but they pointed to it on the Xray which they had several years before my surgery, so why book it with Dr. Mike? To get more money? I also refuse to be sedated by this office ever again, and I refuse to ever go back.

Unfortunately, in the practice of dentistry in general, issues for post procedure pain in individuals with neuropathic pain (in my case, Fibromyalgia), are disregarded. Dr. Chris insisted that once I had a root canal, I would not feel pain in that area. I know this is incorrect from previous procedures, but he again told me I would not need pain relief beyond Advil and Tylenol. The excruciating pain from the trauma of have a tooth with four roots, was unbearable. It lasted more than a week. In general, it was a fairly clean process and he made sure I was fully frozen before proceeding as I have an extra nerve. However, the willingness to ensure post comfort was frustrating and frankly, ill-informed. Also, the quote I was given, not before, but after the procedure was astronomical and nowhere near the Alberta Fee Guidelines. Even with private insurance, I will likely not return for the crown due to the price. Dr. Chris, aside from being completely wrong about post procedure pain, was okay. Honestly, I have never been asked questions about Fibromyalgia and my grinding due to cPTSD. It's time for dentists to brush up (no pun intended), on their knowledge of autoimmune diseases and mental health wellness, instead of seeing every mouth as dollar signs.

Had my first experience with Arbor Lake after quite a while of being nervous about dental work. Had a cleaning and consult with Pascal that was very thorough and anxiety free. Great office team that quickly sorted an insurance issue and provided a very reasonable quote for future work. They'll be looking out for all my dental work going forward, very pleased overall
